Italy and Europe strengthen security.
New measures soon on the horizon
The laws and initiatives that have regulated how security is managed in the intermodal transport and logistics sectors after 11 September have not yet been finalised. A new ‘juridical’ wave is expected to flood Italy over the next few months, and two particularly important national and community pilot projects will soon set the pace in this area. The Journal of Security asked Francesco Parodi, security manager for Assiterminal, exactly what they entail and what will change in the months to come. if security is intermodal
Making land-based transport safer, reducing today's disparity with respect to the air and maritime modal systems, where detailed security rules and measures are already in effect, is the next objective on the European Commission's agenda. Over the last few months, the Commission submitted the first draft of a new set of rules that regulate and strengthen security in the logistics chain.
